North Thin Ply Technology (NTPT™) is proud to be official prepreg supplier of several university race car projects. The University of Wroclaw in Poland recently booked a top ten finish at the Formula SAE Michigan competition in Brooklyn MI, USA in a field of 120 participants from all over the world.
The Formula SAE® is a student design competition with the concept that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted a design team to develop a small Formula-style race car. The prototype race car is to be evaluated for its potential as a production item. Each student team designs, builds and tests a prototype based on a series of rules whose purpose is both to ensure onsite event operations and promote clever problem solving.
The University of Wroclaw claimed the ninth position in the overall ranking in which presentation, design, costs, acceleration, endurance, and other items played a key role. The Polish team claimed a second position in the Powertrain development ranking.
The University of Wroclaw is not the only university team sponsored by NTPT™. The company that provides the world’s thinnest prepreg is also involved in projects of the Technical University of Eindhoven, Netherlands and the AMZ Racing team of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
